The work Koi Swimming under Wild Rose by Imao Keinen was sold in the Art of Japan: Online auction at Christies in London in December 2019. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,181.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Imao Keinen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Keinen kacho gafu [Keinen's natural history paintings Kyoto: S. Nishimura, 1891. 4 volumes in two, 2° (366 x 255mm). 6pp. text. 138 coloured wood-block plates on 163 leaves (including 25 'diptych' plates). Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.181,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Imao Keinen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Keinen kacho gafu [Keinen's natural history paintings Kyoto: S.
