Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Paintings, which included the work Ox-Drawn Cart In The Mountains by Ilya Nikolaevich Zankovsky. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 43,485.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ilya Nikolaevich Zankovsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Mountainous Landscape With Travellers By A Stream, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 90,000.00 (€ 133,555.47).
