In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Escape Artists – The Non-Conformists Online, which included the work Window – Window Sill by Ilya Kabakov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,596.49), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilya Kabakov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beetle in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Escape Artists – The Non-Conformists Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Window – Window Sill von Ilya Kabakov zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.596,49) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ilya Kabakov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beetle im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 3.835.594,92).
