It achieved a price of GBP 1,386.00 (€ 1,539.03), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 73%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilya Kabakov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beetle in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92).

Die Arbeit The Fly - Imitating O.Vassilev von Ilya Kabakov kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.386,00 (€ 1.539,03) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 73%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ilya Kabakov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beetle im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 3.835.594,92).
