Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work Portrait Of Yuri Repin By The Bay Of Naples by Ilya Repin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 750,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 764,750.00 (€ 870,907.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ilya Repin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Parisian Café in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 4,521,250.00 (€ 5,001,922.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Yuri Repin By The Bay Of Naples von Ilya Repin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 750.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 764.750,00 (€ 870.907,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ilya Repin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Parisian Café im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.521.250,00 (€ 5.001.922,73).
