Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study For Procession In An Oak Forest by Ilya Repin was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,286.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilya Repin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Parisian Café in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 4,521,250.00 (€ 5,001,922.73).
