Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Eight illustrations for the fairytale Three Kingdoms by Igor Ershov was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,493.75). Admittedly, works by Igor Ershov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A group of eleven illustrations for the Khorovod book of Russian fairytales in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 7,250.00 (€ 9,164.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Eight illustrations for the fairytale Three Kingdoms von Igor Ershov im November 2010 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.493,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Igor Ershov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A group of eleven illustrations for the Khorovod book of Russian fairytales im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.250,00 (€ 9.164,24).
