Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Fighting Cockerel by Ibrahim Hussein. It changed hands for a price of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 38,144.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ibrahim Hussein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in May 2014 for HKD 1,120,000.00 (€ 105,923.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fighting Cockerel von Ibrahim Hussein zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 38.144,61) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ibrahim Hussein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für HKD 1.120.000,00 (€ 105.923,75) versteigert wurde.
