Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Egyptian Violet by Ibrahim El Dessouki was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in October 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,792.85). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ibrahim El Dessouki - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Egyptian Violet, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 25,062.00 (€ 29,070.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Egyptian Violet von Ibrahim El Dessouki im Oktober 2013 bei Christies in Dubai versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.792,85) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ibrahim El Dessouki mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Egyptian Violet beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 25.062,00 (€ 29.070,12) versteigert wurde.
