Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong, which included the work Immortals by Ian Williams. It changed hands for a price of HKD 27,500.00 (€ 3,238.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ian Williams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Original Things (Painted In 2021), which sold at auction in April 2021 for HKD 73,160.00 (€ 7,832.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong durch, in der auch die Arbeit Immortals von Ian Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 27.500,00 (€ 3.238,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ian Williams mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Original Things (Painted In 2021) beobachtet, die im April 2021 für HKD 73.160,00 (€ 7.832,92) versteigert wurde.
