In April 2021 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Original Things (Painted In 2021) by Ian Williams. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 73,160.00 (€ 7,832.92), 46% above the upper estimate. With this result, Original Things (Painted In 2021) is even the most expensive work of art by Ian Williams that we have observed at auctions so far.
