Despite a disappointment, a good price for Ian Fleming
When the work Landscape, Yellow Theme by Ian Fleming was auctioned at Sothebys in London in August 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,340.10). Despite this disappointing result, Landscape, Yellow Theme is the most expensive artwork by Ian Fleming that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Ian Fleming
Als die Arbeit Landscape, Yellow Theme von Ian Fleming im August 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.340,10) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Landscape, Yellow Theme das teuerste Kunstwerk von Ian Fleming, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
