Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Warrior by Ian Fairweather was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2002. The price achieved of AUD 47,000.00 (€ 28,484.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ian Fairweather achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Beach At Manicahan in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 960,000.00 (€ 580,822.20).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 47.000,00 (€ 28.484,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ian Fairweather erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Beach At Manicahan im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 960.000,00 (€ 580.822,20).
