The »bidding war« ended at AUD 95,600.00 (€ 55,856.00), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ian Fairweather achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Beach At Manicahan in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 960,000.00 (€ 580,822.20).
