Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Hussein Madi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Bonhams in London in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,600.00 (€ 29,785.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hussein Madi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Rapture), which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,480.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Hussein Madi wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 25.600,00 (€ 29.785,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Hussein Madi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Rapture) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.480,72) versteigert wurde.
