Auction result misses estimated price range
In January this year a collector was able to acquire the work Reclining Figure by Hussein Madi for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,617.86). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art Online at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hussein Madi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Rapture) in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,480.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Reclining Figure von Hussein Madi für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.617,86) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art Online bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hussein Madi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Rapture) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.480,72).
