In August 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work Untitled (toucans, parrots, monkeys, ocelots and red panda) by Hunt Slonem. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,418.93) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hunt Slonem - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Picul 131, which sold at auction in October 2021 for USD 37,800.00 (€ 32,721.61).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im August 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (toucans, parrots, monkeys, ocelots and red panda) von Hunt Slonem zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.418,93) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hunt Slonem mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Picul 131 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für USD 37.800,00 (€ 32.721,61) versteigert wurde.
