Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Countess by Hunt Slonem was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,740.91). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hunt Slonem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Picul 131 in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,800.00 (€ 32,721.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Countess von Hunt Slonem im September 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.740,91) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hunt Slonem erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Picul 131 im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 32.721,61).
