In April 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Counterpoise by Hughie Lee-Smith. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,590.58), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hughie Lee-Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indecision II in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 104,921.36).

Im April 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Counterpoise von Hughie Lee-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.590,58) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hughie Lee-Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indecision II im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 104.921,36).
