Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints, which included the work View of the town and castle of Dumbarton by Hugh William Williams. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,130.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugh William Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive view of the Acropolis and Athens, Greece, with the Herodeion Atticon below in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 157,250.00 (€ 180,467.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of the town and castle of Dumbarton von Hugh William Williams zur Versteigerung kam.
