Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hugh William Williams could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work Lanark, a distant view of the old church, Scotland changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 597.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugh William Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive view of the Acropolis and Athens, Greece, with the Herodeion Atticon below in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 157,250.00 (€ 180,467.90).
In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 wechselte die Arbeit Lanark, a distant view of the old church, Scotland für GBP 500,00 (€ 597,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00.
