Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Forum, Rome, with Italian peasants dancing in the foreground by Hugh William Williams was sold in the The Cowdray Sale: Works of Art from Cowdray Park and Dunecht House,At Cowdray Park, West Sussex auction at Christies in London in September 2011. The price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,234.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugh William Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive view of the Acropolis and Athens, Greece, with the Herodeion Atticon below in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 157,250.00 (€ 180,467.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Forum, Rome, with Italian peasants dancing in the foreground von Hugh William Williams wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion The Cowdray Sale: Works of Art from Cowdray Park and Dunecht House,At Cowdray Park, West Sussex bei Christies in London versteigert.
