Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Durham Cathedral by Hugh William Williams was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2017. The price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,197.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugh William Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive view of the Acropolis and Athens, Greece, with the Herodeion Atticon below in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 157,250.00 (€ 180,467.90).
