Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Chopped Bill by Hugh Scott-Douglas. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,831.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hugh Scott-Douglas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 53,750.00 (€ 67,795.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chopped Bill von Hugh Scott-Douglas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.831,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugh Scott-Douglas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.750,00 (€ 67.795,65).
