Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Square-rigger, evening light; and A brig leaving the harbour by Hugh Boycott Brown. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,407.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hugh Boycott Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Suffolk Windmill; Morning At Pin Mill in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,698.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Square-rigger, evening light; and A brig leaving the harbour von Hugh Boycott Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.407,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugh Boycott Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Suffolk Windmill; Morning At Pin Mill im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.698,37).
