In the European Noble & Private Collections Including Fine Tapestries Part II auction, the work Oysters and prawns with a glass of wine sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,586.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hubert Bellis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bouquet des fleurs, which sold at auction in October 2000 for NLG 12,872.20 (€ 6,178.23).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hubert Bellis erzielte im April 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Noble & Private Collections Including Fine Tapestries Part II wurde die Arbeit Oysters and prawns with a glass of wine für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.586,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hubert Bellis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bouquet des fleurs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für NLG 12.872,20 (€ 6.178,23) versteigert wurde.
