Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Red No.1 (Diptych) by Huang Rui. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 51,640.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Rui - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work New Woman, which sold at auction in May 2011 for HKD 1,340,000.00 (€ 119,869.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red No.1 (Diptych) von Huang Rui zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 51.640,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Rui mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit New Woman beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für HKD 1.340.000,00 (€ 119.869,23) versteigert wurde.
