The work Women in Eastern District of Taipei by Huang Ming-Che was worth HKD 1,687,500.00 (€ 138,925.93) to a buyer in May 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Huang Ming-Che; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pose sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 1,807,500.00 (€ 148,805.11).
