This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Daozhou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Collection of Poems in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 42,935,000.00 (€ 4,979,665.12).
