This artwork by Hu Shu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Seal Script sold for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,397.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hu Shu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Zhuanshu, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 72,231.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hu Shu erzielte im September 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.397,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hu Shu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Zhuanshu beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 72.231,68) versteigert wurde.
