In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Venerable by Hsu Tung-Lung. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,693.98), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hsu Tung-Lung - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work THE MERCY BUDDHA, which sold at auction in November 2016 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 83,776.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venerable von Hsu Tung-Lung zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 37.693,98) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hsu Tung-Lung mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit THE MERCY BUDDHA beobachtet, die im November 2016 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 83.776,47) versteigert wurde.
