The work Swaying Lotus by Hsu Tung-Lung was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. It achieved a price of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 33,860.28), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hsu Tung-Lung - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work THE MERCY BUDDHA, which sold at auction in November 2016 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 83,776.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Swaying Lotus von Hsu Tung-Lung wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 33.860,28) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Für andere Arbeiten von Hsu Tung-Lung mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit THE MERCY BUDDHA beobachtet, die im November 2016 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 83.776,47) versteigert wurde.
