This artwork by Hossein Kashian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in April 2008. In the International Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Homage to Omar Khayyam sold for USD 39,400.00 (€ 25,308.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 16,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hossein Kashian; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot L'interrogation de l'amour sold at auction in June 2008 with the realized price of EUR 26,900.00.

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hossein Kashian; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit L'interrogation de l'amour im Juni 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 26.900,00.
