Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Cataracte De Jais by Horst Egon Kalinowski was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in May 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 1,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 3,276.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Horst Egon Kalinowski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work „Pour un rite d'initiation“., which sold at auction in November 2013 for EUR 7,500.00.
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Cataracte De Jais von Horst Egon Kalinowski im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 1.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 3.276,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Horst Egon Kalinowski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit „Pour un rite d'initiation“. beobachtet, die im November 2013 für EUR 7.500,00 versteigert wurde.
