This artwork by Horace van Ruith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2017. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work A Kattiwar Sentry sold for USD 22,500.00 (€ 21,031.97) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horace van Ruith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (A Brahmin Household) in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 384,500.00 (€ 359,412.97).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Horace van Ruith erzielte im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit A Kattiwar Sentry für USD 22.500,00 (€ 21.031,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horace van Ruith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (A Brahmin Household) im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 384.500,00 (€ 359.412,97).
