This artwork by Horace van Ruith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September this year. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Sunshine on the sands, Lowestoft sold for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 38,400.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Horace van Ruith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (A Brahmin Household) in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 384,500.00 (€ 359,412.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Horace van Ruith erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Sunshine on the sands, Lowestoft für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 38.400,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Horace van Ruith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (A Brahmin Household) im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 384.500,00 (€ 359.412,97).
