This artwork by Hongren achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Landscapes And Calligraphies sold for HKD 128,456,000.00 (€ 13,753,227.60) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 55,000,000.00. This high result makes Landscapes And Calligraphies the most expensive artwork by Hongren that we have observed at auctions so far.
