This artwork by Hong Liangji achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Couplet In Seal Script sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,073.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hong Liangji; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script sold at auction in October 2017 with the realized price of HKD 92,040.00 (€ 10,130.09).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hong Liangji erzielte im März 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Couplet In Seal Script für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.073,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hong Liangji; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script im Oktober 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 92.040,00 (€ 10.130,09).
