Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Windmills by a river by Hobbe Smith was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2006. The price achieved of EUR 1,800.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hobbe Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work De Magere Brug over de Amstel in October 2003 with an auction result of EUR 23,900.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Windmills by a river von Hobbe Smith wurde im Januar 2006 in der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.800,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hobbe Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit De Magere Brug over de Amstel im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 23.900,00.
