Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hobbe Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2004. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work Portrait of a girl, said to be the artist's sister sold for EUR 2,031.50 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hobbe Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work De Magere Brug over de Amstel in October 2003 with an auction result of EUR 23,900.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hobbe Smith erzielte im Februar 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a girl, said to be the artist's sister für EUR 2.031,50 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hobbe Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit De Magere Brug over de Amstel im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 23.900,00.
