Auction result well in line with expectations
The work ESCAPE(UNDER) by Hiroshi Sugito was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia: Including a Collection of Works by Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita auction at Christies in New York in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,209.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugito achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Lounge in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 216,000.00 (€ 160,558.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit ESCAPE(UNDER) von Hiroshi Sugito wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: Including a Collection of Works by Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.209,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hiroshi Sugito erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Lounge im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 216.000,00 (€ 160.558,98).
