This artwork by Hilda Carline achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2003. In the 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE auction, the work Cliffs at Seaford sold for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,458.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hilda Carline achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Stanley Spencer in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 24,675.00 (€ 36,040.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hilda Carline erzielte im Oktober 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE wurde die Arbeit Cliffs at Seaford für GBP 998,75 (€ 1.458,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hilda Carline erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Stanley Spencer im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.675,00 (€ 36.040,08).
