Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With Flowers In A Glass Vase by Hieronymus Galle I was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,782.09). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hieronymus Galle I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Peonies, Poppies, Carnations, Guelder Roses And Other Flowers In A Sculpted Terracotta Vase On A Stone Ledge in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 87,999.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With Flowers In A Glass Vase von Hieronymus Galle I im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.782,09) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hieronymus Galle I erzielen.
