In May 2003 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, which included the work Tulips, peonies, morning glory, narcissi and other flowers in a decorated vase on a ledge by Hieronymus Galle I. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,315.00 (€ 17,265.85), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hieronymus Galle I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, Peonies, Poppies, Carnations, Guelder Roses And Other Flowers In A Sculpted Terracotta Vase On A Stone Ledge in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 87,999.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tulips, peonies, morning glory, narcissi and other flowers in a decorated vase on a ledge von Hieronymus Galle I zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.315,00 (€ 17.265,85) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hieronymus Galle I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, Peonies, Poppies, Carnations, Guelder Roses And Other Flowers In A Sculpted Terracotta Vase On A Stone Ledge im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 87.999,01).
