Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Unknown by Hideo Hagiwara was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,513.32). Other works by Hideo Hagiwara have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2001 by the work Greek Mythology at USD 5,875.00 (€ 6,680.69).
