Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hermanus Koekkoek Sen. could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction, the work Fishing folk, with a view of Amsterdam in the background changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,058.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hermanus Koekkoek Sen. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mending Nets by the Shore in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 154,500.00 (€ 172,471.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hermanus Koekkoek Sen. konnte im November 2013 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art wechselte die Arbeit Fishing folk, with a view of Amsterdam in the background für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.058,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hermanus Koekkoek Sen. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mending Nets by the Shore im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 154.500,00 (€ 172.471,53).
