This artwork by Herman Leonard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in May this year. In the Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner auction, the work Dexter Gordon, Royal Roast sold for USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,393.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Herman Leonard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Jazz Studies in October 2011 with an auction result of USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,165.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Herman Leonard erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner wurde die Arbeit Dexter Gordon, Royal Roast für USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.393,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herman Leonard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Jazz Studies im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.165,63).
