Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Doctors Differ by Henry Stacy Marks was sold in the British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,045.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Stacy Marks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bookworm in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 70,775.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Doctors Differ von Henry Stacy Marks wurde im Dezember 2014 in der Auktion British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.045,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Stacy Marks auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bookworm im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.650,00 (€ 70.775,75).
