Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Welcome by Henry Stacy Marks was sold in the Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,015.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Stacy Marks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bookworm in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 70,775.75).

Die Arbeit The Welcome von Henry Stacy Marks wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.015,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Stacy Marks auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bookworm im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.650,00 (€ 70.775,75).
