The work A Young Gentleman, In Blue Velvet Coat, Gold-Bordered Cream Waistcoat And Lace Cravat, Powdered Wig En Queue by Henry Spicer was sold in the Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction at Christies in London in June 2007. It achieved a price of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,424.59), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Spicer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ozias Humphry, R.A. (1742-1810), in profile to the left in claret coloured velvet cloak, white stock, clasping a book close to his chest in his right hand in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 17,625.00 (€ 28,807.37).
(1742-1810), in profile to the left in claret coloured velvet cloak, white stock, clasping a book close to his chest in his right hand im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.625,00 (€ 28.807,37).
